He said while some in the community may hear about cases where someone is tested and blows a blood alcohol content of 0.000%or a low number close to zero that “the bottom line is we are looking for people who are impaired to the slightest degree.” He said all officers undergo mandatory Standard Field Sobriety Testing as well as Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement, with some officers undergoing Drug Recognition Expert training those officers, he said, are called in to assist other officers during potential DUI arrests. Ticer also spoke Monday about the training that goes into DUI enforcement for LPD officers, saying officers receive the “highest level of impaired driving training so they can do the best job possible within the limitations of being a human being.” The amended suit includes information on other people who claim they were wrongfully arrested by the LPD as well as more information on LPD culture surrounding DUI enforcement.
